Acquaintances…ppl u know…ppl u recognize…ppl whose names may ring a bell…They are not friends, nor relatives…n definitly not part of life…Bt dey do exist and are a part n parcel of daily chores.U may find dem everywhere…U c a familiar face n u smile…even if u hv forgotten names.
The boy outside the sweetshop near my hostel…we used to get samosas frm him…One day i passed by, widout noticing his presence…running away in haste….i dont remember y…just den a voice remarked..”Madam 4 samosey pack kar du? ” Shocked i was…n i could not help but smile at him…and of course samosey to pack ho he gaye the already.
After shifting to another place n den coming back to dwarka…and a visit to the stationary shop…Bhaiya still remembers me and here came the questions…”madam kaha shift kiya aapne…clg kaisa chal raha hai…Aapne naukri lagne ki mithaai nai khilayi…ghar pe sab kaise hain? “
I visited my favourite eating-out joint after a really long time…n i was greeted wid a big smile from dis gentleman…and along came d remark ” Madam aap bade dino baad aaye…kaha ho aajakl…College band hai kya? ” Dat was surprising bt i felt good in a strange way that this man remembers me and i took it as an acknowledgement from his side to mine for being a regular visitor. But soon i was shocked enough wen he ordered himself widout asking me wt i want…He even knew wt i came to eat…
My friend’s friend…met at a party…and remembered me…added me on orkut- d latest in social networking!!!Just a small hi…n she was dere in my ever growing list of friends…as an acquaintance of course!!! Scrapping and scrapping- dats the buzz word.
Acquintances….as we all call dem…sometimes provide a strange kind of happiness … its always good to knw dat u r remembered…I dont know if dis happens wid everyone or i am a special case so ppl remember me…bt i really njoy it! Striking a conversation comes naturally to me…i can not shup up and do things…dat may be one of d factors y things like i mentioned above take place.They dont matter to u and u dont matter to dem…bt in dis bzy world where every1 is fighting 4 existance, some ppl who dont exactly knw u still recognize u…feels like deres still a human touch in dis mechanized world.
