A hot day…wid temperatures rising…the mercury boiling…And no sign of relief yet…its getting tougher n tougher each day to bear d heat…Being at home,n exactly doing nothing, i m exempted from d task of getting out in d sun but i really sympathaise wid every1 who has to…The thought of getting out in d sun makes me alrdy feel dehydrated!
But as the sun sets…relief bells ring and seem to be round d corner…And while waiting for d atmosphere to cool down, i dress myself for a lovely summer evening.By d time, d heat is all gone…it starts getting dark outside…street lights lite up…n taking dat as a signal, small children who were playing outside rush homes. But for me,,its just d rite time to step out.By now, d gardener had watered all d plants in the garden n d sweet fragrance of wet mud and ‘raat ki raani’ catches my attention…How i feel i could stay here till eternity….
Birds chirping n going back to dere nests…Moonlight blending wid d beautiful yellow flowers hanging on d trees n making dem visible in d dark…although yellow seems to be chngd to brown…A cool breeze dat seemed an impossible dream during d day…wid a muddy smell dat casts its spell on me…dry leaves flowing freely…wet green graas…And d chilled orange juice dat mom just brought for me…Wonderful…Heaven..i must say!
Evenings r d most beautiful part of d day for me…(Mornings could also be beautiful bt i really dont knw coz i m hardly awake den)Evening is d time wen all dat i c is beautiful and needs no alterations…Everything is just perfect-d way i like d most.I remember i used to hear ‘koel ki kuuk’ phone pe wen mom ringed me in d evenings…n how much i wanted to come back here and c it for myself…Aur kal hee Bhanu ne suni koel ki kuuk phone pe n how he admired it…
But soon, dis magic comes to an end…n d spell of darkness is wt remains….It has its own beauty i must say…but i kind of dont like d dark.N i strt waiting again..for another beautiful evening.

Hey Aks!
That reminded me of a tory I had read as a kid… ‘Games at Twilight’
Hey was it by Vikram Seth?
Summers evenings were described beatifully in the story..
Anyways, the good thing here is that u have quite nicely descrbed the summers… the scorching summers.. The mention of Raat ki raani was a relief!…the koel too!
Good! Keep these fingers on over your keyboard…
