Age No Bar!

She was a little princess

Just trying to open her arms
For the world to witness
Her endless spell of charms
A moment of truth later
She was a child, violated
Someone decided to play traitor
So, a childhood she cremated.
A huge price she paid
For not being killed in the womb
The pain won’t ever fade
Not even at his tomb.

She was a woman of substance
Just trying to prove her mettle
To the world- To give her a chance
A thousand questions to settle
A moment of truth later
She was a girl, violated
Someone decided to play traitor
So, a teenage she cremated.
A huge price she paid
Another Nirbhaya she became
The pain won’t ever fade
Not even if they’re on flame.
She was a loving grand-ma
Who had lived a full life
To become an envy of her clan
A perfect mother, a perfect wife
A moment of truth later
She was a lady, violated
Someone decided to play traitor
So an old-age she cremated.
A huge price she paid
For being alive in today’s  times
The pain won’t ever fade
Not in her lifetime.

Exactly. And since no punishment is adequate, we decide not to punish the culprits in most of the cases 🙁

From six year olds to eighty one year olds…..can't even blame skirts or chow mein. So now they say even God can't prevent rapes. Sad, unfortunate, shameful.
    Poignant lines Akanksha.

Same here, Pankti. It is a struggle and we have a long way to go. Someday, the world will be a better place.
