#TWC2015 – Travel Secrets

For someone who grew up on a regular dosage of Famous Five and Secret Seven, hallucinating to be a member of a secret club came naturally. All those years of praying for a miracle to give me my own secret society, trying to build clubs that didn’t function beyond the first day and regretting being born in a country and era different from the one in those books I loved, didn’t go to waste afterall. Finally, my childhood fantasies of being a member of a secret club came true last week when Shraddha Gupta, the Streettrotter announced the Travel Wizard’s Club. Although my bubble has already burst and the club is not a secret anymore, it was super cool while it lasted. The members kept the buzz going on Twitter and the outsiders didn’t get a word of what we were tweeting about!

Old and new Travel Bloggers from across the nation came together at Kunzum Travel Cafe, to lay the foundations of this dream of a project. Shraddha dreamt about it and worked hard towards bringing us all together.Dreams do come true, and TWC is alive and kicking as I type this. So much so that Chhattisgarh Tourism, which is a government initiative is backing us all up. Many Thanks to Mr Mishra and his team for the support. With you guys around, it truly feels like the baby is in good hands.

What started as an idea is now reality and it feels good to be a part of Shraddha’s journey. It’s an adventure of it’s own kind to see a startup taking form, and being a part of it is a completely exhilarating experience. Add to that the perks of hanging with the coolest travel bloggers in town. The first meeting of TWC was a huge success, thanks to Shraddha and her amazing team. We mingled, we talked,we learned and we had lots of fun. Conversations brewed over coffee and cookies and then gave way to serious discussions about SEO and plagiarization. It was a learning experience for bloggers like me, who have never cared for SEO.

The talks were great but the best part was being able to meet Mr Akash Das, Brand Ambassador, Canon and a wildlife photographer for National Geographic. Listening to him talk about his pictures was an experience of a lifetime. He was gracious enough to show us some of his pictures. They were all spellbounding, to say the least. The passion for photography oozed out his words and this talk is one I would remember for long.

A VC with Mr Santosh Mishra, IAS and MD of Chhattisgarh Tourism made me believe in government officers once again. So much so that I even wrote a post on why I want to visit this gem of an offbeat place to satisfy my cravings. There still are some hardworking people out there, who have passion for their work and love for their country. The zeal to put Chhattisgarh on the tourism map of the country was evident in Mr Mishra’s words as well as his actions. Well, because how cool is it for a State Tourism board to host a bunch of bloggers for a week’s trip to their state? They even sent us some goodies. You don’t believe all that, do you? Well, here’s a sneak-peak!

There you go, see it to believe it! Now, TWC is no more a secret with #TWC2015 trending on social media and blog posts like this one sprouting from all corners of the nation. We’re going to take #TravelBlogging to a new level, and with it, form a support system for startups like Cheapsex, #ThreadCasa and iPartyWild who have been gracious enough to pamper us with some cool stuff! The bloggers at TWC are passionate for all things travel, and there could not have been better accessories than a sleep-mask, a handcrafted pouch and a card game to make our travels more interesting.

What better way to end this post other than wishing great adventures to Shraddha and TWC. More power to you, lady. May there always be a destination to look forward to, and a journey worth putting down in words.

Leaving you with a few glimpses of my travels, my most precious possessions.

Kunzum is indeed an amazing place. Mr Mishra was like a breeze of fresh air, we rarely come across such dedicated government officials. More power to him!

Wow, That's amazing! The dedication with which he explained to us everything about Chhattisgarh left us surprised. It was amazing listening to him, and hopefully, I'll get to meet him soon. Maybe time to bring up the IAS Rank 2 then 🙂 You guys were college buddies, isn't it amazing! Such a small world.

I too was never a travel blogger. The fear of forgetting the experiences made me document the travels and today my blog is full of them. Start writing about your travels, would love to read poems about your adventures 🙂
