We all love our hometowns… Its d place where we were born n brought up, went school, made our first friends, studied(not exactly in schools bt in coaching centres, rite?) , roamed around, performed those first big mischievs! And den we grew up, and found better opportunities in big cities, and off we all went to achieve our big dreams for which d canvas of dis small city was not d best choice,rite? Hum to chale aaye, bt behind we left, parents (waiting anxiously to c us again, worring abt every single detail dat was associated wid us…), those streets which were a part of childhood memories, those “addas” where we all friends used to meet, anxious friends waiting to reunite n relive dose moments again…and much more…
I loved my dreams, n off i went to chase dem…leaving behind ppl and things which mattered.Bt most of my big dreams came true and i m more dan satisfied by d decisions i made in d past(some exceptions are always dere, bt better overlook dem to b happy abt wt i have rite now…hmmm, n dats wt i always wanted!!!)
Homecoming during vacations was always a welcome change…I remember i always looked forward to it…Exclusive attention and pampering is wt one is showered wid at home during such times…N of course we go shopping-dats d ultimate adventure i njoyed during my visits home…
During those short visits to wt i all call my Home ‘TOWN’, i usually neglected all d negatives abt it coz i was always an overexcited fool who was sooooooo emotionally attached to dis place dat i never actually wanted to believe dat any kind of negatives could be linked to it.For me, everything abt it was good(even d bad was good in some way)
But once again, not holidaying but living in Kanpur has taken its toll on me…All d big negatives i ignored wen i was here 4 a short period, r now d biggest issues of concern for me…but for everyone else, its just d way dis city is…U know, i ws waiting to write dis one since last 3 days, bt i wasnt lucky enough…wenever i switched on d pc…dere was yet another power cut…some ‘major fault’ as dey called it, which took 3 days to be rectified. Can u believe it,,3 whole days, without electricity, thanda paani( well,in some areas, paani..), TV, PC, Orkut, Bolgger…and d mercury touching 44 degress…HELL 🙁
N talk abt Customer Care Services, Dere Are NONE !!! Yeah i m rite, Dey dont even knw such a thing exists in d world…May it be any area of concern, dere are rare chances dat u’ll find customer care services. For something dat i could manage over a phone call in Delhi, here, i had to visit offices located in outskirts of d city n stand in long queues n even den i was waiting for things to be done till n no of days and finally i gave up d idea of doing it at all.N dats y i m still surviving on d slow dial-up connection n broadband is a distant dream i’ve stopped chasing.Dats Kanpur and dats UP.Well, about Customer Care…Cing d state of affairs here, Airtel and Hutch decided to cash on…n dey did dat bt making d Customer Care Call to be actually paid…Yess, guys, 50 paise per minute!!!! Can u believe dat– Once again Ulta Pradesh is wt comes to mind as soon as i think abt it.
Living in a metro has for sure spoiled me.Things which were more or less taken for granted dere, need my immidiate attention here n i really hate it.Hmm…bt dats d state of things here and i dont think it’ll change…actually ppl heer are so used to all dis dat no one actually bothers about it…Its been like dis since ages, and it’ll remain so forever…is dere motto i think.
I love Kanpur…bt i’ll love Kanpur even more wen things improve…and Kanpur civilises.Homecoming for a longer duration has actually opened my eyes abt n no of things dat need immidiate change here..bt who cares…not d govt and not d ppl. 🙁 I m here for few days, n dey’ll pass away…bt i hope next time i come back, atleast some of dose things change….n i knw dats being over optimistic abt it all. 🙁 Hoping against all hopes…and fingers crossed to c a better n beautiful home ‘TOWN’
Hey u have touched all the negative points but have u ever tried to find out the reason for these problems???
The power cut problem is there coz people here don’t wanna pay the electricity bill.
Ms Mayawati is there coz people elected her to b there…
Regarding the queue how many ppl actually obey the queue rule here??
Customer care service is not present or had been closed down mainly coz people dont know how to behave with executives over phone…
So tell me who is responsible for all this???
1) People who really live there and behave this way or
2) People like us who have migrated to metro’s chasing our dreams leaving this “UTTAM PRADESH” to become “ULTA PRADESH” and blaming the government when we get chance.
